Trish Stratus Asked Permission to Use Move for WWE Payback Match

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has accomplished a lot in the business and inspired generations upon generations of professional wrestlers. She also had a terrific match with Becky Lynch at WWE Payback and it appears she asked Victoria for permission to use her finisher at the event.

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ feud dominated WWE television for several months and it ended at WWE Payback, where they squared off against each other in a steel cage match.

During the physical match, Trish Stratus paid tribute to her friend Victoria by nailing a Widow’s Peak on Lynch. Lynch also used a Twist of Fate on Stratus as a tribute to Lita, as both women paid homage to Victoria and Lita’s steel cage match on the November 24, 2003 episode of RAW.

While speaking on the latest episode of Victoria’s GAW TV show alongside Mickie James and SoCal Val, Victoria revealed that Trish Stratus personally asked her for permission to use The Widow’s Peak in the match.

“She called me a couple of weeks before to ask if she could do the Widow’s Peak, which a lot of people don’t really do that anymore, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Please do it, do it, do it!’ The only thing I have is she kicked out of it, dammit [laughs].”

Trish Stratus also wore battle scars following the physical match. Only time will tell whether WWE will have something significant planned for Stratus next, now that her feud with Becky Lynch has come to an end.
