Pro Wrestling illustrated released their PWI 500 list today, and there is a lot to talk about. Seth Rollins topped that list, but the #15 spot made history.
Masha Slamovich has achieved yet another historic milestone. On Thursday, September 14th, the digital version of the PWI 500 became available to the public. Members of the ranking committee appeared on Busted Open Radio and unveiled the top ten rankings, featuring stars like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, MJF, Gunther, and others.
IMPACT Wrestling’s Masha Slamovich secured the #15 spot on the list, narrowly missing the top ten. Notably, she outperformed other prominent stars such as Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, and Bobby Lashley in the rankings.
PWI’s Kristen Ashly expressed her enthusiasm on social media, celebrating Slamovich’s placement in this year’s list. Slamovich now holds the distinction of being the highest-ranked woman in PWI 500 history.
In 2021, Pro Wrestling Illustrated expanded the PWI500 list to include women. However, this inclusion was limited to women who compete against both male and female opponents or hold championships that have historically been dominated by men. Slamovich, aside from her IMPACT Wrestling tenure, previously held the GCW World Championship and frequently faced male opponents on the independent circuit.
The PWI Women’s 250 for 2022, a list exclusively featuring women, was published in October of that year. The physical release date for the 2023 edition of this ranking is currently uncertain, but it will probably fly off the shelves.
