AEW Full Gear recently underwent another logo design change. On September 7th, AEW unveiled artwork for the November pay-per-view, featuring vivid purple and yellow colors. That was an apparent way of referencing the event’s LA location.
AEW Full Gear will go down on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at the Kia Forum in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood, California. This marks a rare Saturday pay-per-view for the company.
Since the event is set to be held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, AEW picked the purple and yellow colors to draw comparisons to the LA Lakers. Additionally, reports suggested that these colors were associated with the branding of the Max show, “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.”
AEW’s official Twitter account introduced the Full Gear branding just last week. However, on September 14th, 2023, the AEW Live Twitter account shared a Full Gear graphic with a more conventional design.
Both versions have sparked discussions among fans, with some expressing a preference for the Lakers-inspired style on social media. AEW’s next pay-per-view event, WrestleDream, is scheduled for October 1st, 2023, in Seattle, Washington.
We will have to see how AEW changes things around. They might have wanted to appeal to the LA market with the new colorway, but only time will tell if they keep it around in the future. You may check out the logos below. We will have to see which logo they decide to use from this point on.
