Cathy Kelley, the popular backstage correspondent and digital team member for WWE’s SmackDown brand, has ruled out any possibility of stepping inside the wrestling ring as a competitor.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Kelley was asked about the potential of pursuing an in-ring career, and she made it clear that such a move is highly unlikely.

“I don’t think so. I did try once, back in the day,” Kelley explained. “Dave Marquez has a wrestling ring for Championship Wrestling For Hollywood up in the valley, so I’d go there. I think I took one or two bumps until I knocked the wind out of myself. Even running the ropes, if you haven’t done it, it’s intense. You end up building up calluses on your back, I was bruised for probably a week.”

Kelley’s contributions to WWE have been primarily focused on her role as a backstage correspondent and member of the digital team, where she has excelled in delivering news, interviews, and behind-the-scenes insights to the WWE Universe.

While her dedication to the company is evident, fans shouldn’t expect to see her step into the ring as an active competitor, as her passion and skills lie in her current roles.
