CM Punk has never failed to burn bridges with almost every promotion he has worked with, especially with WWE. His fairytale run with AEW came crashing down far too soon as he made a mess of things in the company. Now it appears Punk has been urged to take accountability for his actions after his AEW firing.

CM Punk ended up making a mess of things in the company after AEW All Out last year, where he was involved in a backstage brawl with The Elite. When he came back to AEW as part of Collision, fans thought things couldn’t get any worse.

That wasn’t the case as CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing.

While speaking on his Wrestling With Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. talked about CM Punk’s AEW firing and made it clear that Punk should take accountability for his actions.

”When you keep doing the same thing over and over and you keep blaming everyone else and it’s the world’s fault… the world ain’t gonna change for you or for nobody. The world don’t owe you s***. It’s your responsibility as a human being to find out your place in this world and make the absolute most of it.

This is a weird thing, man. I felt really bad for Tony Khan. I don’t think he should’ve made the statement that he made because he’s not a good public speaker at all, and it gives Punk an opportunity to s*** all over him in his first interview outside of this firing. I wish he wouldn’t have done that. The letter was enough.”

You got to, at a certain point, look in the mirror and say, ‘Is what I’m doing working?’ When you have this many years of it not, that should be a clue. He’s still, to me, one of the best on the mic, in the ring, all that stuff. I’m not discrediting the man’s work. But I think everything you and I have said has been completely fair and appropriate criticism.”

CM Punk chants also broke out during the WWE Superstar Spectacle event. We will have to wait and see what will become of the Second City Saint in the end.
