There is no doubt that Bryan Danielson is one of the most established names in the world of professional wrestling right now. He has been at the very top of his game for several years now, but time has finally caught up to him. Danielson recently made it clear his in-ring career will be over soon and now it appears he will remain a special attraction after his in-ring retirement.
The American Dragon returned last week on AEW Collision and would go on to defeat Ricky Starks at AEW All Out. On this week’s Collision, Danielson stated that time is running out on his in-ring career, which concerned fans.
According to a report by Sports Illustrated, it was noted by multiple sources that Bryan Danielson will no longer be a full-time in-ring competitor next year, but will still be a special attraction for AEW.
But the announcement is open to some interpretation. Multiple people close to the situation confirmed with Sports Illustrated that Danielson will be stepping away from wrestling full-time in the next year, yet may remain a special attraction for AEW.
Bryan Danielson is set to square off against Zack Sabre Jr. at WrestleDream on October 1st. We will have to wait and see how Danielson will continue to be booked until he ends his full-time in-ring career.
