Drew McIntyre worked hard to maintain a top spot in WWE, but nothing lasts forever. With his contract up for renewal soon enough, it appears the Scottish Warrior might have an option to leave WWE if he chooses.
Drew McIntyre returned to WWE at the 2023 Money in the Bank event in London’s O2 Arena. That came after a hiatus since WrestleMania, as he recovered from some nagging injuries.
While speaking with Hindustan Times, Drew McIntyre was asked about his current WWE status. He said that he reads the internet news cycle as well, but right now his job is to make sure that WWE fans see him in the ring when he’s booked.
“I mean, I keep reading the internet myself. I just saw something earlier. The internet keeps talking about my future, I guess. But my focus is on the here and now like I don’t look to the future, I don’t look to the past, I look to the present. And my job right now is just making sure we give everybody in Hyderabad the best show possible and I’ll continue to give the best performance I can give at every show and I can see I don’t plan to be anywhere else. That’s as much as I can give.”
We previously reported that Drew McIntyre still hasn’t signed a new contract with WWE. That being said, his situatoin is very interesting.
Drew McIntyre has left WWE before, and he found a lot of success in other companies. He was a top star throughout the UK and also came back to take over Impact Wrestling for a while before making his way back to WWE.
Only time will tell what Drew McIntyre does next. He is a draw, and WWE realizes that. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
