The Hardy Boyz have been part of the AEW family for a while now but have faced a lot of issues due to Jeff Hardy’s personal demons. They are now back in the fold and compete on a regular basis, but it appears AEW scrapped plans for the duo to compete at AEW All Out.
AEW All Out was the first pay-per-view after CM Punk’s firing and many fans felt the atmosphere was very different throughout the show, as there was a lot more energy present.
Prior to that, AEW All In took place and the record 81,000 fans in attendance ensured the show would make history. While speaking on his Xtreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy revealed that he was present at All Out as there were talks of The Hardy Boyz competing in a match at the event, but they didn’t end up competing that night.
“Very positive. [Wednesday] was extremely positive. I was at All Out because there were talks of us possibly having a match, possibly doing a couple of things. It ended up we weren’t needed for it so we were able to get home on Sunday night. I watched the majority of the show, and I was so proud of everyone on the roster. They killed it. They busted their ass and went out there and worked so hard and were so entertaining.”
“It was such a good show, even though it was put together in the last week, but it was still a killer show. What a fantastic pro wrestling show. The vibe was great there that day. The vibe at Dynamite and Rampage was great as well. AEW is very healthy and in a positive place.”
Jeff Hardy will be competing on this week’s episode of AEW Rampage, where he will square off against Samoa Joe in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. It remains to be seen whether Hardy will be able to pull off the win.
