AEW fans have reason to be excited as an update on Saraya’s first AEW Women’s Championship defense has emerged.

Saraya, who clinched the title at All In London in front of her family, made a triumphant return to the ring following a serious neck injury in November 2022. The big question on fans’ minds has been how often she would wrestle moving forward.

Now, it’s official: an AEW Women’s Title match has been announced for the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam event slated for September 20. While the opponent remains a mystery, next week’s edition of Dynamite will determine the #1 contender.

On the September 13 show, a four-way eliminator match is set to take place. The participants – Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, Nyla Rose, and Toni Storm – will vie for the coveted #1 contender spot. The winner will earn the right to challenge Saraya for the AEW Women’s Title at Dynamite Grand Slam.
