CM Punk and Jack Perry’s little skirmish at AEW All In London is still making headlines. Now, Road Dogg has his own take on the situation, and it speaks to how much pro wrestling has really changed.

Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk wants fans to think that WWE is an option for him, but that’s not the case. He made “desperate attempts” at a WWE return a few years ago, and WWE had to tell FOX that he needed to be “controlled” on the WWE Backstage show, where he had a gig as an analyst.

We previously reported that Impact Wrestling is very excited about the idea of making an offer to CM Punk. We will have to see if he does anything there. The NWA might be an intriguing option as well.

Road Dogg noted on his Oh, You Didn’t Know, that those old-school tactics that CM Punk was trying to play just didn’t work out in AEW. He noted that you just can’t hit people nowadays, and, “There is still toxicity. I don’t feel like they have a very good commodity.” It was also stressed, “that doesn’t happen nowadays. People don’t fight anymore.”

Road Dogg noted that, “it’s sad, but that’s where we are today,” because “it’s small ball mentality.”

In the end, Road Dogg said that CM Punk was right and “you should never use real glass.” That being said, the whole argument was “small ball mentality” when it comes to the WWE Hall of Famer. Road Dogg also said that he “is in the half that meets him at the curtain, so it makes me feel funny inside. If [Punk] would have hit [Perry] that would have been acceptable [back in the day].” Nowadays, “you just can’t fight anymore,” because the pro wrestling business has changed in a huge way.

CM Punk was released from AEW, and that opened up his schedule in a big way. We’re unclear if there is a non-compete clause in place, so CM Punk might arrive anywhere as a big surprise. Now, it appears that the NWA is an option.

Brian James noted that Jack Perry “would have worked into one,” if he pulled a stunt like he did at All In back in the day. He said “it’s the boys working the boys, and they’re using the doms of the world to do it,” when he found out that the pro wrestling news circuit had already picked up on the story that Punk told Perry not to use real glass weeks prior.

We will have to see what is next for Jack Perry. He is still suspended from AEW, but CM Punk is now a free agent once again.
