CM Punk has never failed to burn bridges with almost every promotion he has worked with, especially with WWE. His time in AEW ended far too soon as he was fired last week after a lot of backstage unrest. Now it appears Zelina Vega supported Punk after his AEW exit controversy.
CM Punk ended up ruining his reputation after AEW All Out last year, where he was involved in a backstage brawl with The Elite. When he returned to AEW as part of Collision, fans had hoped he would be a better man.
That wasn’t the case as CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing.
While speaking to Alfonso Castillo, Zelina Vega talked about CM Punk’s possible return to WWE. Vega made it clear she would love to see him back in WWE and defended him against haters.
“I don’t know much about his situation with AEW, but I have always had a fantastic relationship with CM Punk. You hear all these things about him. I am so big on not listening to other people’s experiences, the dirt sheets, all that crap.
There’s so many reasons I’d like to see a Punk return and not just for me, but for the fans. He’s always been a fantastic person. There’s layers to people. And when people are just so hung up on the outer layers of what a person can be, you get stuck there. And if you want to stay there, that’s great. But when you get to know the core of a person, that’s where I like to hang out. To me, Punk’s been nothing but great.”
Ringside News also exclusively reported that CM Punk wants fans to believe WWE is an option for him. We’ll have to wait and see what will become of The Second City Saint in the end.
