The WWE NXT North American Title is set to be defended at the upcoming No Mercy event, and the match was confirmed following a recent episode of NXT.

During this week’s NXT broadcast, Mustafa Ali emerged victorious in a #1 contender’s match against Dragon Lee. What made this match unique was the involvement of NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio, who served as the special referee. The bout concluded with Mysterio executing a fast count on Ali during a roll-up pin.

However, Ali’s dissatisfaction with the result became evident after the match. He attacked Mysterio, clearly not wanting to secure a victory in such a manner. Dragon Lee joined Ali in exiting the scene together, while Mysterio was left to recover.

With the tension escalating between Ali and Mysterio, a showdown for the NXT North American Title at No Mercy was officially announced. This forthcoming title match will be Dominik Mysterio’s fifth televised title defense since capturing the championship on July 18, when he defeated Wes Lee. His previous defenses included victories over Butch, Sami Zayn, Ali in a Triple Threat match, and Dragon Lee.
