CM Punk was fired by AEW, and the pro wrestling world couldn’t help but comment about this. Kevin Nash had an idea about how to handle CM Punk while he was with the company, but AEW let him go anyway. That being said, this is a serious situation when it comes to Punk’s possible mental situation.
During his Kliq This Podcast, Kevin Nash spoke openly about CM Punk. This podcast was recorded prior to AEW firing Punk, but Nash suggested at the time that Tony Khan hire a “heater” to take care of this issue backstage.
Kevin Nash also said that CM Punk is mentally ill, and he needs some “serious help.”
“Honest to God, I mean, this is in all seriousness, what I take from this whole thing is he needs serious help. He needs mental help. When it becomes destructive, when there’s a chance this costs you millions of dollars, and you just continue to push and push and push.”
“They have to (let him go). I’ll tell you right now man, if I would have broke in and saw some motherf*cker doing that sh*t, I would have said, ‘Oh if he can get away with that, well f*ck, then I’m going to do it.”
“I just think that Tony Khan needs to get somebody there to be the heater. He needs to bring somebody in. Vince wouldn’t put up with that shit. It’s disrespectful to Tony. To me, Punk is almost a bully at this point because he knows that Tony is not, that’s just not in his DNA.”
CM Punk is now free to go off and pursue his own interests. He may continue appearing on Heels, and that’s a good spot for him.
It would be sad if CM Punk never wrestles again, but if his final match was against Samoa Joe in Wembley Stadium then that might be a great way to wrap up his career.
