CM Punk has never failed to burn bridges with almost every promotion he has worked with, especially with WWE. His time in AEW was a short one, as it ended in just over two years following his firing yesterday. Now it appears Punk is expected to give an explosive response after his AEW firing.

CM Punk ended up ruining his reputation after AEW All Out last year, where he took part in a backstage brawl with The Elite. When he came back to Collision, fans had hoped things would be better for him.

That didn’t hold true as CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing.

According to Sports Illustrated, it was reported that sources close to both AEW and CM Punk expect the Second City Saint to provide a response to his AEW firing, which could potentially be explosive.

This is by no means the end of Phil Brooks as CM Punk. Sources close to both sides expect a response from Punk, which holds the potential to be explosive. It is disappointing that, after so much promise just two years ago, the relationship ends in such a disjointed manner.

CM Punk also did ‘more than lunging’ at Tony Khan during the AEW All In backstage confrontation. Regardless, it remains to be seen whether CM Punk will end up retiring from pro wrestling for good following his AEW firing.
