Tonight’s AEW Collision in Chicago arrived after the surprising announcement of CM Punk’s release following his actions at All In. Chicago fans also had an interesting chant for Punk before the show started.

Tony Khan started off the show by directly addressing Punk’s release, shedding light on the challenging nature of the decision. He shared that it came after consulting external legal counsel and a disciplinary committee, both of which strongly advised Punk’s departure. Khan emphasized that, for the first time at a wrestling event, he felt a genuine sense of danger, with Punk’s actions potentially endangering other individuals on the show who were uninvolved in his altercation with Jack Perry.
