AEW fired CM Punk from his contract after an altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All Out. This was quite a surprise, and AEW is also getting rid of their top merchandise seller as well.
CM Punk threatened to quit, but he wrestled that “Real” World Title match in Wembley Stadium anyway. After he won that match, Tony Khan suspended CM Punk and also Jack Perry, something that Punk was informed of through his attorney.
We previously reported that CM Punk was the top merchandise category for AEW. A ton of fans flocked to his merchandise, as they sensed that the company might stop selling his stuff.
O’Shea Jackson Jr, who is known for his role in Straight Outta Compton, was aware that Punk sold a massive amount of merchandise, and he spoke out about this. The second-generation entertainer posted on X to fire off a post about CM Punk getting canned by Tony Khan.
The biggest draw. The number one merch selling wrestler on the roster.
Fired.
We will have to see if AEW addresses this situation on television. Obviously, they’re not going to let this play out in a Brawl For All setting like Booker T suggested.
CM Punk might be gone from AEW, but his career isn’t over. He hasn’t officially announced his retirement from the ring, but it also makes us have to wonder where he could wrestle next.
