WWE Hall of Famer Edge has accomplished a lot in his time in WWE over the last 25 years. He also competed in what might have been his last WWE match during Smackdown back in August and since then, rumors have run rampant that he will make his way to WWE. That said, it appears Jim Ross believes it’s a long shot Edge will debut in AEW.

Edge previously stated that his WWE contract will be over after last week’s Smackdown ahead of his match with Sheamus. He even revealed when his contract will be expiring.

Ringside News exclusively reported that there is an internal belief within WWE that Edge is going to AEW. This is due to the fact that has has yet to sign any new deal with WWE. Naturally, a lot of speculation about him going to AEW has been going on since then.

While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked whether he would like to see Edge in AEW. Good ol’ JR made it clear that he believes it’s a long shot Edge will debut in AEW.

Of course it is, that’s a no brainer. In all the time that I was around the talent this past weekend, I never heard one talent ask me about Edge. It just didn’t come up. It was business at hand to take care of. Maybe, after the show at the after party, which I did not attend. It’d be great. I haven’t given it much thought. How about Edge and Kenny Omega? Edge and Will Ospreay. There are a million ways to monetize this potential, but I don’t have any inside information, I don’t know if it’s even feasible.

I have heard, through the grapevine, that WWE has an offer on the table for him that is significant, as it should be. I don’t know. I think it would be a long shot at very best that Edge comes to work at AEW. I signed him and Christian on the same day, together, back in the day to the grandiose salary of $210 a week. They were indie wrestlers from Toronto, so they weren’t making any money. Not only did I do that, I think I might have advanced them some cash. I know that I paid off Edge’s college debt. I remember doing that. We wrote the college check to pay for his student loans. WWE paid for Edge’s student loans, thanks to JR, I thought it was the right thing to do.”

Those in AEW also believe that Edge is signing with Tony Khan. It remains to be seen whether the Rated R Superstar will make his way to AEW, as nothing is impossible in the world of professional wrestling.

Are you in agreement with what Jim Ross had to say? Do you think Edge will make his way to AEW? Sound off in the comments!
