CM Punk was once a WWE Superstar. The pro wrestling world is small, and news of his firing immediately hit the WWE roster. Naturally, many people would want to comment on what happened.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that the subject of CM Punk’s WWE firing was really a popular subject of conversation backstage at Payback. They obviously wanted to discuss this very prominent pro wrestling topic.
“CM Punk’s firing was heavily discussed backstage.”
AEW also had their production team and announcer stall for time, because they didn’t know if CM Punk was even going to go out for his match against Samoa Joe. Tony Khan was later asked about the reported heated conversation he had with CM Punk, and refrained to speak further about the investigation or the issue.
There is probably a lot to talk about when it comes to CM Punk. It would also be very interesting to know what is being said about him backstage in WWE right now.
