WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, but that doesn’t mean everyone agrees with him. He also isn’t a big fan of CM Punk and it appears he urged AEW President Tony Khan to make Punk pay the price after his backstage fight at AEW All In.
During AEW All In Zero Hour, Jack Perry made reference to his controversy with CM Punk when it came to using real glass. This led to CM Punk and Perry having a backstage fight prior to Punk’s match at All In London and a lot of drama ensued afterwards.
Tony Khan also didn’t comment much on CM Punk and Jack Perry’s suspension and future, adding that an investigation is taking place. While speaking on his Strictly Business podcast, Eric Bischoff urged Tony Khan to make CM punk pay the price afftr6 his intention at AEW All In.
That’s another b******* thing. I hear this so much about ‘Oh it’s under investigation.’ Tony was standing right there for crying out loud. It is what it is. What investigation? What, are you calling in the CSI team? This is such…. That kind of flakiness doesn’t work for me, brother.
This is the time when a leader leads. If that means [saying] ‘For all of you that bought tickets, because you thought CM Punk was going to be a part of this event. We apologise. Obviously a situation happened and it had to be handled the correct way. For the sake of the rest of the roster and the business long term. We apologize. Punk’s not gonna be here this time. Maybe next time.’
Take the bullet. It’s a wound. It’s gonna bleed. It’s gonna hurt. You’re gonna limp a little bit after but people will respect you for that. The rest of the roster will respect you. The fans will respect you. They may not like it at first, of course they’re not going to like it, especially if they bought tickets because they want to see Punk but man you got to at some point. The answer is yes or no. ‘It’s under investigation’ for crying out loud.
I think he would actually make himself a babyface. I mean, in a weird way. Yes, you’re gonna get some vocal audience. Social Media is social media. It’s a hate fest. So you’re gonna get people that are going to react negatively. But I would venture to say the vast majority of the audience would have some respect for Tony for having a backbone and because of also respects the rest of the roster, which I think is important.
Here’s another advantage in just coming out and calling it down the middle and quit playing games with the audience. Because that’s what it is. It holds Punk accountable. Tony didn’t choke Jack Perry. Tony didn’t do that. Those two did that. Let them pay the price.”
There is also hope within AEW that there will be more information about CM Punk and Jack Perry investigation by All Out this week. Despite the drama, CM Punk is still advertised for upcoming episodes of AEW Collision. It remains to be seen what will become of Punk in the end.
