Bray Wyatt’s passing is still felt throughout the entire pro wrestling world. Many are mourning the loss, as we look back at the incredible man that we missed. In recent memory, a pitched storyline for Wyatt has emerged, and we have more information on that.
We previously reported via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that, “Taylor Rotunda had returned to WWE as Uncle Howdy. At first, the idea was for Wyatt to build to a match with Howdy at WrestleMania, but that plans ended up changing and Howdy was not being pushed at that level and the character dropped.”
Ringside News reached out to inquire about plans for Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy to wrestle. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that Wyatt vs Howdy was “Rob Fee’s pitch, but no one ever really thought we’d get there.”
Bray Wyatt’s passing inspired 15 WWE employees, including Rob Fee, got Bray Wyatt tribute tattoos. Rob Fee was brought in to work with the Bray Wyatt storyline during his return.
Bray Wyatt is gone, but he will never be forgotten. He was booked against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania, after Brock Lesnar rejected the match idea. Of course, Brock Lesnar had his own reason for not wanting to do that match.
Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News as we continue covering this story, and so much more. Our thoughts are still with JoJo Offerman, Bray Wyatt’s children, and his entire family during this sad time.
