There is no doubt that Bryan Danielson is one of the most established names in the world of professional wrestling right now. He is also viewed as a very harmless vegan outside the squared circle and largely maintains that image as well. Now it appears he might be returning sooner than expected after his injury.
NJPW decided to book Okada vs Danielson for this year’s Forbidden Door event as it couldn’t happen last year. The match turned out to be an instant classic as they closed out the Forbidden Door event and had a terrific match that came as no surprise to fans. Okada would end up tapping out to Danielson, making him the first person in 8 years to make Okada submit.
Brie Bella, Bryan Danielson’s wife, revealed that Danielson had a complete break and that his injury was worse than initially thought. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that “it will probably need a photo finish, but Bryan Danielson was told he could return in October.”
Dave Meltzer further added that WrestleDream “being in Seattle… would be the place if everything goes well.” Meltzer stated it would work” if he can cross the finish line by those dates.”
We will have to see whether Danielson will be able to make his in-ring return in October, as fans would love to see The American Dragon return to the squared circle.
