Bray Wyatt’s passing hit everyone like a ton of bricks, and the pro wrestling world will grieve forever, for the man the world lost and his amazing creative vision as well. Now that he is gone, all we can do is look back at the memories he left behind, and some new information is now emerging from WWE concerning his release from the company.
WWE fans were stunned when WWE released Bray Wyatt from his contract. He would return later on for another short run before his passing, but fans can’t help but wonder what could have been.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the reason for Bray Wyatt’s release
“The next year, Fiend was in a feud with Orton for WrestleMania where the indestructible character lost clean to an RKO in just a few minutes and the character was killed off. Everyone expected a return in some form, but on July 31, 2021, he was released.”
“It was kept secret from almost everyone as to the reason, but he had heart issues already. Multiple sources told us that off the record, noting that few were aware of it.”
The outlet also noted that, concerning Bray Wyatt’s match against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39, that he had to leave that program due to a “serious case of COVID.” The expectation at the time was that he would be back.
“We reported it as a health issue, although we were told off the record it was a serious case of COVID, but the expectation was he’d be back. However, the COVID was serious enough that it caused even more damage to his heart.”
Dr. Alex Patel, who is a Canadian medical professional, provided insights into the impact of COVID-19 on the heart. It was noted that COVID has been known to cause “severe heart inflammation.”
“COVID has been known to cause severe heart inflammation that we call myocarditis. The condition is similar to what a lot of people are linking with the vaccine but it’s magnitude more common with Covid itself. When you get inflammation of the heart, it can cause heart damage called cardiomyopathy. Cardiomyopathy 1 if it doesn’t recover can cause heart failure and leave you prone to arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death that can eventually result in death.”
Bray Wyatt’s passing caused 15 WWE employees to get Bray Wyatt tribute tattoos. This was quite a tribute, and it’s also expected that John Cena will say something during his SmackDown appearance as well.
