Bandido impressed fans over the years, and that is a big reason why AEW had him compete against Chris Jericho on Dynamite last year. Bandido’s contract status after that was always a topic of discussion, and that’s why he finally inked a deal with Tony Khan’s company. That being said, Bandido is set to make his return to AEW soon after suffering an injury earlier this year.
Bandido also picked AEW over WWE as he did not want to move. Bandido would go on to compete in a few matches after signing with the company, as fans wanted to see more of the talented star.
During his match with Konosuke Takeshita on the June 14 edition of Rampage, Bandido suffered a broken wrist injury and would undergo successful surgery for the same back in July.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido is recovering well after his injury and is expected to make his return to in-ring action soon.
“Bandido has the cast off his wrist so he should be back soon. He got the pin taken out two weeks ago and September was originally when he was expected to return.”
We’ll have to see what AEW will have planned for him after his return, as the landscape of the company has changed significantly since June this year.
