AOP were secretly signed by WWE, and Akam and Rezar might be coming back. They also could be reuniting with someone who had a lot to do with their success the first time around.

The Authors of Pain’s first manager in WWE was Paul Ellering. This worked very well in NXT, but Vince McMahon took Ellering away from AOP when they were called up to the main roster. No reason why was given, but that was The Chairman’s call.

AOP were later paired up with Drake Maverick as their manager. That team seemed to work as well, but Paul Ellering was missed by a lot of fans.

PW Insider noted that AOP is expected to be in Orlando this week, including for the company’s NXT tapings. Paul Ellering will be there as well, which certainly alludes to them getting back together on television.

Akam and Rezar haven’t been taking indie bookings, but they are still a team. Those two still a ton of potential, and it’s possible that they could have another substantial WWE run in them. Under Triple H’s booking, Akam and Rezar could do a lot of damage.

Paul Ellering is a brilliant pro wrestling mind, and he could fit right back into a position as AOP’s on-screen manager. Ellering was also reportedly involved in talks to re-sign the powerful tandem.

We will have to see what WWE has in store for AOP, but it might make a lot of fans happy. What’s your take on things? Sound off in the comments to let us know!
