AEW is in Chicago for All Out week, but that doesn’t mean CM Punk is going to be in the Windy City. Although there were plans for Punk to be around, those changed after his backstage skirmish with Jack Perry at All In London.
Interestingly enough, CM Punk was spotted with JBL and Ron Simmons amid his AEW suspension. Tony Khan stated that the company would be looking into matters during the press conference after All In London. He did not confirm Punk’s suspension at the time, but Punk was later informed via his attorney that he was suspended from AEW.
PW Insider noted that CM Punk is not in Chicago ahead of AEW Dynamite this week. The Dynamite show, and Collision, will air in Chicago prior to All Out this Sunday.
CM Punk is not in Chicago for tonight’s AEW Dynamite, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Punk was in Las Vegas yesterday to be lauded by the Cauliflower Alley Club and was still in Vegas as of a few hours ago.
Sports Illustrated reported yesterday that Punk and Jack Perry were both suspended from AEW due to their backstage skirmish at AEW All In: London. AEW has not publicly confirmed that. Some AEW sources conceded there was a suspension today to PWInsider but others have not, stating they were “not aware” that was official.
Chicago, obviously is Punk’s hometown, so with AEW running three events this week, if he does not appear in some form, it will obviously be noticeable. He likely would not be appearing on Dynamite tonight either way as he has only appeared on the Wednesday night series once since returning to the ring earlier this summer.
As we previously reported, Jack Perry was said to not be backstage at tonight’s Dynamite taping at the NOW Arena. Both Perry and CM Punk are suspended pending an investigation from AEW.
AEW All Out weekend will still be a lot of fun for fans. They are likely to sell out the venue as well. The Starrcast event is also a huge attraction. Only time will tell if CM Punk makes it back to Chicago by the time All Out rolls around, but he’s not going to the show.
