CM Punk and Jack Perry had a backstage scuffle right before Punk’s match at All In London. Now, Punk and Perry will be taking some time off.
This fight all over a situation when CM Punk didn’t want Perry to do an injury angle using real glass, because he didn’t want Jungle Boy to hurt himself. They used real glass at All In during the FTW Title match, and Jack Perry made point to point that out during the match. After Perry got backstage, things escalated quickly.
There was a report that CM Punk and Jack Perry were suspended. Now, Sports Illustrated has confirmed this report to be true and Fightful’s Sean Sapp commented on the report.
“I have heard a lot more traction to the idea that Jack Perry and CM Punk were suspended for their physical incident at AEW All In, as Bryan Alvarez has noted.”
“Sports Illustrated have confirmed this.”
Tony Khan actually addressed the situation regarding CM Punk’s fight with Jack Perry during his opening statement after All In London in the media scrum. He said that there was an incident and they are investigating the matter.
AEW didn’t even send someone to the airport to pick up CM Punk. In fact, you can click here for a photo of CM Punk lost in London before AEW All In.
Naturally, there is a lot to unpack in this story. This is especially true since CM Punk is telling people that he “hates the place” now when speaking about AEW.
