John Cena is coming back to WWE for a lot more dates than just this week’s episode of SmackDown and India’s Superstar Spectacle live event. There is a reason why John Cena was able to come back after such a long period when it was impossible to book him.
As Ringside News exclusively reported, John Cena’s WWE return was in the works since the SAG-AFTRA strike started. That strike, while it put Hollywood at a standstill, turned into an opportunity for WWE.
Since the SAG-AFTRA strike isn’t going to end any time soon, John Cena’s schedule is clear. That gave him the ability to pick up even more dates for WWE.
John Cena surprised fans by showing up at Money in the Bank. He did that to pull for London to get a WrestleMania event. As we previously reported, that might be difficult to pull off, considering all the factors at play.
John Cena will be busy, as he picked up dates every Friday for WWE through the end of October. Only time will tell if they add a pay-per-view date to that schedule, but the timing of everything really helped facilitate this return for the 16x World Champion.
Friday, September 1 – Hershey, Pa. – The Giant Center
Friday, September 15 – Denver – Ball Arena
Friday, September 22 – Glendale, Ariz. – Desert Diamond Arena
Friday, September 29 – Sacramento, Calif. – Golden 1 Center
Friday, October 6 – St. Louis – Enterprise Center
Friday, October 13 – Tulsa, Okla. – BOK Center
Friday, October 20 – San Antonio – AT&T Center
Friday, October 27 – Milwaukee – Fiserv Forum
John Cena might have the opportunity to get involved in some real stories as he returns for 7 additional dates, which puts this return run to, at least 8 appearances, not including his trip to India for the Superstar Spectacle.
