Jim Ross is a WWE Hall of Famer and was the voice of several generations of fans, as he gave decades of his life to the business. Ross has been part of numerous iconic moments in the business, and he continues to be respected even now. He has been with AEW since day one and it appears he is currently in negotiations for a new AEW deal.

Due to his veteran status, Jim Ross is well aware of how the pro wrestling world functions and how certain things in AEW can be perceived. Naturally, whatever Jim Ross says carries a lot of weight.

It was previously reported that Jim Ross’ contract will be expiring in a month. While speaking on the podcast Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked whether he sees himself as a part of AEW in the future. Ross made it clear that he wants to continue working there and that he is currently in negotiations for a new deal.

“I don’t have any intentions of changing my employer at all,” Ross said. “I like working for AEW. I like working with these talents. I really enjoy being on ‘Collision’ because I think we’re trying to develop a little different feel for the TV presentation. Not better than ‘Dynamite,’ but different than ‘Dynamite.’ So my plan is to continue in some role, and that’s entirely up to Barry Bloom, my agent, and, of course, Tony Khan. They hold the cards; they’re doing the negotiating.

“So, my goal is to stay in AEW and contribute and help wherever I can. I like working with we were back together with Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness, and that’s always fun. I was very impressed with Ian Riccaboni. Really good young announcer, so hopefully, everything will work out okay. We’ll know in a few weeks, that’s for sure.”

Jim Ross was also a major part of the AEW All in pay-per-view yesterday as he showcased his commentary skills throughout the event. We will have to wait and see whether he will sign another long-term deal with AEW in the end.

Do you believe Jim Ross will continue work in AEW for many years to come? What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
