CM Punk and Jack Perry had a bit of a backstage confrontation at All In. This situation is far from finished, as AEW is apparently investigating the matter. Perhaps they should have investigated CM Punk’s travel arrangements as well.
Tony Khan addressed this situation during his opening statement after All In London in the media scrum. He admitted that there was an incident and they are investigating the matter. The latest on this story is that Punk and Perry might be suspended until that investigation concludes.
Nick Hausman reported on Haus Of Wrestling that CM Punk had issues after he arrived in London. There was nobody at the airport to meet him from AEW, and he was left on his own. This led to him getting lost on his way to the hotel.
“Haus of Wrestling has learned that when Punk landed at Heathrow Airport for AEW: All In London on Saturday morning, no one from AEW was there to greet him. There was also no car service to take him to his hotel, and when he texted a number he was given by AEW for the driver, it bounced back as being an invalid number.”
“After waiting for a while, Punk chose to buy a train ticket and find his own way to his hotel. We are told that The Tube was fairly busy at the time, Punk got lost, and a few fans who noticed The Second City Saint helped him figure out where he was going. It appears that Punk got into London so close to the actual event because he had taping commitments in Atlanta on Wednesday and wanted to spend Thursday with his wife and dog, Larry, before heading out on Friday and landing on Saturday morning.”
While using the F4WOnline.com’s message board, Bryan Alvarez commented on Nick Hausman’s story and stated that he had heard this as well.
“I also heard the travel story but was told he landed at a different airport, which maybe was part of the problem.”
CM Punk threatened to quit AEW during that heated backstage ordeal. At this point, CM Punk’s future with AEW is “questionable.” Eric Bischoff also issued a warning when it comes to believing all the reports about CM Punk and Jack Perry. It’s not hard to see why AEW might have frustrated CM Punk a bit over the weekend.
We will have updates on this story, because there will be a lot more left to unpack. Needless to say, CM Punk’s name is always sure to draw attention, and it appears that things between the Second City Savior and AEW might not be 100% okay.
