Santana sustained a knee injury during an episode of Dynamite in June of last year, while performing a uranage on Daniel Garcia during the Blood and Guts match. This caused him to take time off to recover from the injury. After more than a year away from the ring, he returned on Dynamite this week and is set to compete at All In. However, despite their return, Santana and Ortiz are still not on good terms.
Last year, it was reported that Santana might be thinking about leaving AEW. Santana tweeted cryptic countdowns such as “126 days” and “Soon.” This led to fans believing he was done with AEW for good.
That changed after this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, where Santana and Ortiz made their shocking return and aligned themselves with the Blackpool Combat Club for the Stadium Stampede match. Naturally, fans believed that Santana and Ortiz were once again on good terms.
According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, it was reported that despite reuniting with Ortiz, Santana and Ortiz are not on good terms. It was added that Santana isn’t on good terms with Eddie Kingston either.
Speaking of Stadium Stampede, Santana returned to compete in the match alongside the Blackpool Combat Club. Despite reuniting with Ortiz, the two are still not on good terms, nor is Santana on good terms with Eddie Kingston.
Santana and Ortiz are part of the Stadium Stampede match with Blackpool Combat Club, as they will be taking on Orange Cassidy, Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo and The Best Friends. We’ll have to wait and see how the match will turn out at AEW All In today.
