AEW recently made headlines after Cash Wheeler got arrested on aggravated assault with a firearm. Now it appears The Young Bucks have admitted that Wheeler’s arrest was a bit frustrating.
The arrest stemmed from serious charge of aggravated assault involving a firearm, an incident that transpired back on July 28. The alleged victim claimed Cash Wheeler brandished a firearm and threatened him. A warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was issued the following day.
It was added that Wheeler pleaded not guilty via his attorney on August 3rd. He was subsequently released on $2,500 bond and was required to relinquish all of his firearms to the authorities.
While speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Matt and Nick Jackson were asked about the incident before their upcoming AEW All In encounter. Matt Jackson admitted that Wheeler’s arrest was a bit frustrating.
“Any time distractions happen beyond your control, it’s a bit frustrating. But we have a task at hand, and we plan on delivering.”
Despite these developments, FTR’s AEW Tag Team Title defense against The Young Bucks will still take place at AEW All In on August 27th. It remains to be seen whether FTR will end up dropping the titles at the event.
