AEW fans are eagerly anticipating this weekend’s monumental event, AEW All In, which promises to be a unique and spectacular showcase of wrestling talent.
Remarkably, AEW had initially had different plan for one of the standout matches of the weekend – the Stadium Stampede match.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio‘s Dave Meltzer, the original blueprint involved a three-way Stadium Stampede match. This proposed encounter would have featured members from the Blackpool Combat Club, the Death Triangle faction, and the team of AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy & Best Friends.
However, circumstances shifted, leading to adjustments in the initial plans. Unfortunately, PAC’s injury and Rey Fenix’s inability to attend the event due to travel complications prompted AEW to pivot away from the three-way Stadium Stampede concept.
Nonetheless, AEW All In is poised to be a landmark event for the promotion. It is set to be the largest-ever AEW show, showcasing an impressive roster of wrestling talent. The event also holds the distinction of boasting the highest-paid attendance for a one-day wrestling event in history. Notably, AEW is venturing into new territory by hosting its first-ever event in Europe, expanding its reach beyond the United States and Canada.
The event’s main attraction will be the headline match featuring AEW World Champion MJF defending his title against the formidable Adam Cole. MJF and Adam Cole will also join forces during the Zero Hour kick-off show to challenge ROH World Tag Team Champions Aussie Open.
While the initial plans for the Stadium Stampede match underwent alterations, the anticipation and excitement surrounding AEW All In remain undiminished.
