Joe Gacy Rejects Notions of Being Compared to Bray Wyatt

Joe Gacy is currently one of the up and coming stars in NXT 2.0, as he has honed his craft both as an in-ring competitor and also in his character. Gacy has worked hard to establish himself as one of the highlights of the show. Now it appears Gacy has shut down comparisons to Bray Wyatt.

The rising star of Shawn Michaels’s NXT has done well playing disturbed and dark character over the past. That being said, he is almost constantly being compared to Bray Wyatt.

While speaking on Out of Character, Joe Gacy stated that people saw his appearance and immediately thought of Wyatt. Joe Gacy made it clear that he and Bray Wyatt are very different characters and dismissed such comparisons.

“Let’s be honest, I’m heavy set. So, they just went, ‘Oh this guy is like Bray Wyatt.’ Then I debut a new character, which is pretty much currently what I’m doing. Then there’s like a darkness to a character, so automatically everyone just associates it with, ‘Oh, he’s a dark character, he has a beard, he’s heavy set, and he has tattoos. He’s just like Bray Wyatt.’

My opinion, me and Bray Wyatt are very, very different. I don’t think we’re similar. Maybe the fact that we’re two gimmicks that are darker, I think that’s kinda where I see it.”

Joe Gacy is currently the leader of The Schism faction in NXT and is happy in his role. We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Gacy and his faction in the coming weeks.
