Mick Foley was the first to break the news of Terry Funk’s passing. He posted on Facebook to let everyone know that his dear friend has passed away. He also needs a few days to let it sink in.

I’m struggling to process this — but Terry Funk is gone. I just talked to Terry’s daughter, Brandee, who gave me the awful news. He was my mentor, my idol, and one of my closest friends. He was the greatest wrestler I ever saw.

Terry Funk’s health got worse in his later years. He was living in an assisted living facility at the time of his passing. Of course, he never lost his personality, and he was all smiles in every photo we saw of him until recently.

This is a big loss for the pro wrestling world, and we’re certain that many will mourn the loss in a huge way. Our thoughts go out to Terry Funk’s family, friends, and fans during this sad time.
