AEW President Tony Khan manages everything that goes on in AEW, whether it is good or bad. AEW recently made headlines after Cash Wheeler got arrested on aggravated assault with a firearm. Now it appears Tony Khan has broken his silence on the whole situation.
The arrest stemmed from a serious charge of aggravated assault involving a firearm, an incident that transpired back on July 28. The alleged victim claimed Cash Wheeler brandished a firearm and threatened him. A warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was issued the following day.
It was added that Wheeler pleaded not guilty via his attorney on August 3rd. He was subsequently released on $2,500 bond and was required to relinquish all of his firearms to the authorities.
While speaking on today’s All In/Fyter Fest media call, Tony Khan talked about Cash Wheeler’s arrest and the situation after that. Khan called it an ‘inconclusive’ situation.
“As for things that have happened outside of the ring, I can’t comment on the specifics at this time because I still don’t know everything. We’re still learning facts. Based on the information we have at this time, we’re still keeping an eye on that situation.”
“At this time, I think it’s a very inconclusive situation. It differs from other times where we’ve come in and weighed in or acted on a situation based on the evidence because, in this case, with everything we’re looking at, I don’t think we have those facts right now. At this point, I think it’s rather inconclusive. I do very much look forward to the match and we’ll keep an eye out throughout this weekend and as long as it’s a pending situation.”
Despite these developments, FTR’s AEW Tag Team Title defense against The Young Bucks will still take place at AEW All In on August 27th. It remains to be seen whether FTR will end up dropping the titles at the event.
