WWE Hall of Famer Edge has been an integral part of the pro wrestling industry for well over two decades and has won numerous titles during his time in WWE. He also competed in what might have been his last match during Smackdown this week. Now it appears Edge’s WWE contract is expiring.

Edge himself previously stated that his WWE contract will be over after this week’s Smackdown ahead of his match with Sheamus. While that discussion still stayed in people’s minds, they cared more about what they saw inside the squared circle last night.

Sheamus and Edge faced each other in a solid match in the main event of Smackdown, which received a ton of praise from fans and pro wrestlers alike. In the end, the Rated R Superstar pulled off the win.

While speaking to FAN Morning Show, Edge was asked about his future plans after his match. Edge revealed that his WWE contract will be expiring at the end of September.

You know my contract’s up at the end of September. This is my last contracted match.

Edge also stated that he wrestled his last match in Toronto after Smackdown this week. Only time will tell whether Edge will sign a new WWE contract and continue to compete in the company again.
