Edge is getting lot of attention right now, especially after his last match on SmackDown. He said that was his last match under this contract, and his deal isn’t up until September. That gave some AEW fans hope that the Rated R Superstar might go to AEW and be there for All In London, but that is not the case at all.

Edge recently revealed that his Friday Night SmackDown match against Sheamus marked the end of his current WWE contract. This news has led to speculation about whether he could potentially leave WWE and appear in AEW, perhaps as soon as All In: London next week. However, such a move is unlikely to occur.

PW Insider reported that internal word in WWE says that Edge’s deal with the company isn’t up until October. That being said, this should give WWE and Edge time to talk about a new deal.

The word backstage at Smackdown last night was that Copeland’s actual WWE deal is expected to expire in October. That was based on comments Copeland made locally on a sports radio station this week in Toronto as well as comments made backstage.

If the information regarding Edge’s WWE contract is accurate, and it doesn’t expire until October, there would still be time for both parties to negotiate a new deal. This negotiation process might become more significant, especially once Endeavor officially acquires WWE, which is expected to go down in the second half of this year.

It’s important to note that in the past, Edge publicly denied this pro wrestling return until his actual surprise return at the 2020 Royal Rumble. Therefore, there is always a possibility that the information circulating may not be entirely accurate.

Only time will tell what Edge does next at this stage of his career, but he certainly seems to be wrapping things up. AEW fans might hold out hope that he will find himself in Tony Khan’s company, but it’s not happening at All In London.

What’s your take on Edge wrapping up his career? Will he do it in AEW? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
