AEW has come far since its inception back in 2019, as they have introduced quite a few overhauls to the overall product. As such, quite a few celebrities have been part of AEW shows over the years. That said, it appears Tony Khan allegedly rejected the Insane Clown Posse’s offer to be part of an AEW show in Detroit.
The Insane Clown Posse, comprised of Shaggy 2 Dope & Violent J, have been a part of pro wrestling for quite a few years. They were a big deal back in the 1990s, but that doesn’t mean the duo have become irrelevant right now.
While speaking on the Should I Keep This? podcast, AEW referee Bryce Remsburg revealed that Insane Clown Posse reach out to be at AEW Dynamite in Detroit on May 10. However, Tony Khan would end up rejecting the offer.
About a month or so ago, AEW was going to Detroit and the Insane Clown Posse, who are still a thing in 2023, maybe not in their gloriest or glory years, had reached out through an intermediary asking about being part of the AEW event in Detroit. I remember they were just trying to get on the show. I was on this corporate call, and Tony Kahn, someone was like, ‘Do we need ICP in Detroit?’ [Tony said], ‘Yeah I’ll have to think about that one.’ He was politely saying no.”
AEW Dynamite emanated from Little Ceasers Arena on May 10, which saw Jon Moxley squaring off against Kenny Omega in a steel cage match. Regardless, we wonder how the Insane Clown Posse’s appearance would have been received by fans.
