Sami Zayn has been working in WWE for a decade now and when it comes to perfecting storylines – Zayn truly was in a league of his own for a long time. His involvement in The Bloodline angle catapulted him to a level he had never reached before. That said, it appears Zayn feels losing to Roman Reigns ended up helping him in a huge way.

The Survivor Series WarGames match last year helped prove Sami Zayn’s loyalty to The Bloodline. However, that all changed after Zayn ended up betraying Roman Reigns and The Bloodline at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.

Sami Zayn challenged Roman Reigns for his titles at Elimination Chamber in his hometown of Montreal. Zayn had the crowd in the palm of his hand as they all cheered for him to beat Reigns. While that did not happen, Zayn ultimately won the hearts of many.

While speaking on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast, Sami Zayn talked about his loss to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. Zayn stated that he feels losing to Roman Reigns ended up helping him in a huge way.

“Getting there for a match where everyone wants you to beat Roman and getting an audience in that frenzy and experiencing an audience like that, and being part of a story like that, very few people on earth can say they’ve been a part of a story like that. It enabled me to penetrate the hearts of so many fans to where now I’m just, I’m in their good graces, regardless of the storyline that I’m in next. They just, they love me because I made them feel all these different feelings, and that means a lot to me.”

Triple H also told Sami Zayn he was a downer after his appearance during the post-Elimination Chamber press conference. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see whether Zayn will ever make his way back to the main event scene somewhere down the line.
