GUNTHER is on his way to making WWE history, and he has a ton of attention on him. It appears that John Cena has noticed him as well.
The Honky Tonk Man holds the record for the longest reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion. He held the title for 454 days, from June 2, 1987, to August 29, 1988. Please note that this information might have changed since then, so I recommend checking the latest WWE records for the most up-to-date information.
GUNTHER is on his way to breaking that record. He must defeat Chad Gable, but it appears that he is going for that record.
John Cena is known for his interesting activity on Instagram. The 16x World Champion dropped a photo of GUNTHER. He did not provide any caption, because Cena never captions his IG posts. Either way, it’s obvious that Cena realizes what greatness is ahead for GUNTHER.
GUNTHER is a guy that WWE wanted for years, but he didn’t want to leave Europe. That changed for him, and he eventually made the big jump. Of course, he also cut down a ton of weight in the process, and he entered the WWE main roster with a great look and a ton of momentum.
The Ultimate Warrior beat the Honky Tonk Man to take his title. Only time will tell how GUNTHER drops that belt. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him move right onto a much larger title once that day happens.
