Everyone has dreams, and GUNTHER is no different. He is about to break the Honky Tonk Man’s record as Intercontinental Champion, and that is quite a feat. Now, he is able to speak on this situation and reveal what he’s really thinking.
While speaking to Wrestling News, GUNTHER was asked about a few things, including his current run in WWE. He is on a roll, and many fans are wondering if WrestleMania might be his destination.
GUNTHER revealed his thoughts on having the Intercontinental Championship headlining one of the nights at WrestleMania 40. He would love to win the Royal Rumble, and he considers himself as a top contender for that spot too.
“Who knows? If I get the chance to be in the Royal Rumble as the Intercontinental Champion, maybe? Yeah, I think going into it, I would be a favorite, so that would lead to WrestleMania, so the chance is there.”
Gunther on possibly breaking The Honky Tonk Man’s reign as longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time. This was not something he ever aimed for, but it is a “side effect” of his path to greatness.
“Yeah, that’s crazy, right? It’s nothing that I ever, like, wrote on my wall and be like, you gotta achieve that. It’s just more or less a side effect of it, but that’s still the future. I still gotta go through Saturday first.”
GUNTHER is on a great path right now to immortality in WWE. Only time will tell what he accomplishes next, but it is evident that he has a ton of attention from the entire fan base at this point.
GUNTHER must defeat Chad Gable to retain his IC Title. After that, he could be on his way to making history in WWE.
