WWE has faced a slew of legal issues over the decades that the company has been in operation. Now, it appears that they might not be out of the woods regarding a class-action concussion lawsuit, one that was fumbled in a big way on previous attempts.

With WWE’s longtime attorney, Jerry McDevitt, retiring from his job. He won’t be around for his classic strategy, and the company’s legal team might have to deal with another concussion lawsuit.

In an exclusive interview with WrestlingNews, former WWF/AEA star Jim Brunzell of The Killer Bees tag team spoke candidly about that class-action concussion lawsuit against WWE. He hopes that they will be able to kick it off once again, but they will need to figure out a new plan of action next time.

“Here’s the whole premise of the lawsuit. The fact that a number of us sustained head injuries, whether it be concussions, knocked out, etc, you know, over our career with the WWE. What the lawsuit said was if individuals, like if Jim Brunzell winds up with early dementia, or you know, Alzheimer’s or ALS or something related to CTE, and you can’t find out if you have CTE until you’re dead when they cut your brain open, in this lawsuit, what they wanted the WWE to pay for our treatment in a nursing home. That’s basically what it was. There was no upfront money. It was basically saying, hey, if Jim Brunzell has Alzheimer’s or dementia, and he’s got to go into assisted living, we’d like WWE to contribute. It’s $12- $15,000 a month to be in those. There were 50 to 60 members, talent, on this lawsuit that all had some impaired injury over the course of 15 to 20 years, so I hope that they resurrect that sucker because I think that’s the least that we can expect from the WWE.”

The WWE’s class-action concussion lawsuit revolved around allegations that the company failed to adequately protect its wrestlers from the risks of traumatic brain injuries. Wrestlers claim that WWE downplayed the long-term health consequences of concussions and head injuries, putting their well-being at risk. The lawsuit seeks compensation for medical monitoring and treatment for wrestlers who may have suffered brain injuries during their careers.

The lead attorney in the WWE class-action concussion lawsuit was Konstantine Kyros, who represented the plaintiffs, a group of former WWE wrestlers who alleged that the company failed to protect them from the risks of head injuries and concussions. His tactics were banned by the judge, and the case was thrown out. Only time will tell if they can come back for another round.
