Nia Jax was a formidable presence among female WWE Superstars, renowned for her commanding presence inside the wrestling ring. She was released by WWE back in 2021 and largely stayed away from the company since then. Now it appears Teddy Long believes she got backstage heat for being herself in WWE.
The controversial star was not seen on WWE television since the September 20th 2021 edition of Monday Night RAW. Eventually, she was released by the company entirely, something that truly made fans happier than ever.
While speaking on The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long was asked about his thoughts on Nia Jax. Long stated that he believes Nia Jax got backstage heat for being herself in WWE.
“She might have got heat for being herself. That’s all it is. Sometimes they got a smaller opponent that they want to get over and they feel like if Nia takes this big bump, then that’ll get this little small person over. That’s how they think sometimes, but it doesn’t work like that, sometimes fans think that ain’t believable and they ain’t buying that. You know what I mean? Sometimes the writers don’t think about it. Our business has now basically turned into entertainment so they think this isn’t real. But to people like Nia, it’s real to them. They were trained and brought up the right way – to protect yourself. Don’t get out there and let anybody bury you. Nothing wrong with doing business but there’s always a way to do business.’
Nia Jax is already training for an in-ring return. Nia Jax left the door open for WWE return in the future, so it will not be a huge surprise if she makes her WWE in-ring return by the end of this year. We’ll have to see if she will return to WWE this year.
