CM Punk returned to AEW after a very long hiatus, and it seems that his pull in the company is growing substantially, especially on Collision. Now, the idea is out there that CM Punk might have a talent sent home if he chooses.
Reports came out that Ryan Nemeth was sent home from Collision after arriving, and CM Punk might have been the cause of that. After all, Nemeth sent out a tweet that Punk might not have liked after his Collision return.
Dave Meltzer mentioned this on Wrestling Observer Radio, where he noted some new specifics about this situation. It was also noted that Matt Hardy was sent home as well.
“This is not the only time this has happened. This has actually been happening, it’s happened to several other people.”
“Matt Hardy was booked on a Saturday, went there, and was then told not to go to the building after he got there. That was not last night, but Matt Hardy was one of them.”
“Christopher Daniels, who had been working with Matt Sydal as a tag team in Ring of Honor, for whatever reason, same thing happened with him, that he’s not supposed to go on Saturday. And he’s frickin’ Head of Talent Relations.”
“And there may be others, but those are the ones that I know of that that’s been happening to. There’s a lot of other things too, but that’s the stuff that’s pretty much out right now I guess.”
We’ll have to see what is next in this situation, because there could be a lot more to unpack by the time everything is said and done.
CM Punk is drawing a bit of attention to AEW, but the big question is whether drama is following him. Obviously, this could have all been blown out of proportion, but it is still worth keeping our eyes on for further updates.
