Will Ospreay has made waves in the pro wrestling world since he broke out into the mainstream, and that’s not likely to change any time soon. Now, he is keeping that tradition going in NJPW, as he re-christened one of their most prestigious title belts.

Will Ospreay recently revealed a revamped version of the IWGP US Title. Of course, that is not the name of that belts anymore, either.

In a post-match interview backstage after his NJPW G1 Semifinal match, Will Ospreay made a surprising revelation that he has transformed the IWGP United States Championship into the IWGP United Kingdom Championship.

Ospreay’s modifications include replacing the US flag with the UK flag and altering the title’s inscription from “United States” to “United Kingdom.”

Will Ospreay beat Kenny Omega for that title at AEW & NJPW Forbidden Door 2, and that was arguably the match of the night for many fans. Only time will tell what is next for Ospreay in NJPW, but he is expected to make a return to AEW, so he can face Chris Jericho at All In London on August 27th.
