Summer Rae was one of the more popular stars of the women’s division in the early to mid-2010s. Her time in the company did not last long, as she left back in 2017 and focused her energy on other avenues. Rae was also part of the 2022 Royal Rumble, but it appears she was annoyed WWE announced her appearance beforehand.

Summer Rae made her main roster debut in April 2013, as Fandango’s dance partner. Fandango and Summer Rae’s onscreen chemistry was widely appreciated by the fans becoming a popular act on WWE television programming. However, that did not matter as she left WWE back in 2017.

In January 2022, WWE announced during an episode of SmackDown that Summer Rae would be among the 30 entrants in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. While speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Summer Rae admitted that WWE announcing her appearance beforehand annoyed her.

“You know, I was bummed that they announced me before because I felt like no one thought I was going to come back ever. And I’m so good at hiding stuff like pretending that I’m somewhere else… So I remember when they said they were gonna announce me, they literally called me the day of and I was doing cardio… I’m like, okay, cool. And then I’m like, I haven’t told any of my friends. I was fabing everyone.”

She was also spotted during a previous episode of AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see if she will ever return to Vince McMahon’s company somewhere down the line.
