Rey Mysterio Wins WWE United States Title On SmackDown

WWE is always known to give fans surprises, and they are resetting a few things after the big SummerSlam event. Fans in Calgary saw a big SmackDown this week, and the unexpected moments continued in a big way after the biggest party of the summer.

Santos Escobar was supposed to face Austin Theory for the United States Title this week, but that didn’t happen. Escobar was injured, and he didn’t get to compete at all.

Rey Mysterio took that match against Theory, and it was totally impromptu. In the end, Rey Mysterio won the match, and he celebrated in a big way in Calgary.

After Rey Mysterio pulled down the big win, the LWO met him on the entrance ramp to celebrate with him. This was a big win, and a totally unexpected one as well.

This had to have been a hard loss to take for Santos Escobar, because he won a tournament to gain that match in the first place. He still seemed very happy about Rey Mysterio’s big win as he celebrated with him after the match alongside the rest of the LWO.
