WWE is placing a lot more emphasis on their NXT brand, and they have big plans for the future. The brand is running at full steam right now, and Booker T is along for the ride in a big way. That time on the NXT commentary table might be running up as well.

Booker T spoke about NXT on his Hall of Fame podcast, where he had amazing things to say about the brand. He predicted that NXT can start drawing 1 million viewers per week, and he seemed very happy about the possibilities for the brand.

Then Booker T dropped a very interesting piece of knowledge during his wrap-up of how well NXT is doing. He revealed that his NXT contract is running up, but he didn’t indicate whether he was planning on re-signing.

I’m loving it. The ratings, everything, man, my spot, contract coming up, everything man, everything’s good.

Booker T’s co-host Brad Gilmore brought up the fact that the five-time World Champion has been around NXT for about a year. To that, Booker replied, “did you not just hear what I said? Contract coming up, you know.” That was followed by a big laugh and a sip of water.

WWE might want to keep Booker T around, so that laugh might have been because the two-time WWE Hall of Famer is getting a nice bump in pay this time around. Only time will tell what happens, because WWE recently shifted around their RAW and SmackDown announce teams as well.

What’s your take on Booker T in NXT? Is it a great fit? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
