Drew McIntyre’s Absence Explained for This Week’s WWE RAW

Drew McIntyre is one of the most established WWE Superstars of the past decade, as he won the WWE Championship twice. McIntyre also lost to Gunther at SummerSlam and didn’t appear on RAW this week. Now it appears he wasn’t even listed internally for the show.

Drew McIntyre made his return during the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event and confronted Gunther before laying him out. Fans were happy to see McIntyre make his first appearance since WrestleMania 39.

The Scottish Warrior then squared off against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Despite his best efforts, McIntyre lost the match. Afterwards, McIntyre stormed out of the WWE SummerSlam arena almost immediately after losing the match and ignored questions asked by an interviewer backstage.

Drew McIntyre also didn’t appear on RAW this week. According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, he was not listed internally for the show this week.

It remains to be seen whether Drew McIntyre will be able to return as soon as possible, as fans feel he did not get the booking that he truly deserves at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
