Austin Theory has been on a roll as the United States Champion, especially after his heel turn several months ago. Theory is well aware of how Rey Mysterio got injured on Smackdown last month and it appears he called Santos Escobar ‘dangerous’ for injuring Mysterio.

The finals of the United States Title tournament saw  Mysterio squaring off against fellow LWO member Santos Escobar in a singles match. Fans were invested in the match from the very beginning.

Unfortunately, Rey Mysterio suffered a legitimate injury during the match after Escobar hit a dive on him. This led to referee Jessika Carr making the call that he was unable to compete anymore and award Escbar with the fan.

While speaking with The Babyfaces Podcast, Austin Theory addressed his upcoming United States Championship defence against Santos Escobar. He ended up calling Escobar ‘dangerous’ for injuring Rey Mysterio.

“Well, you know, I thought I had Santos figured out, but, man, he just, you know, did you see what he did to his own family, Rey Mysterio? I mean, that just blows my mind. You know, he injures his own role model, that he says he cares about so much. It’s a dangerous man. But, you know, good-guy Theory, he’s gonna come in and wipe the mat clean with this guy. So, don’t worry. I’m here to save the world again.”

WWE also had other plans for Rey Mysterio vs Santos Escobar. We will have to wait and see whether Santos Escobar will be able to dethrone Austin Theory for the United States Championship.
